From the beginning always at the leading and often "bleeding edge" of retail and commercial photographic printing technology and services.

1990 – The Beginning

  • 1 June 1990: Phil & Caroline Gresham launch Fotofast in Brisbane’s Myer Centre, as a family‑owned, high‑quality photo printing business.
  • From day one, the focus: “bleeding edge” photo and commercial printing technology. 


1996–1999 – The Digital Leap

  • 1996: Launch of Fotofast’s first website—enabling online photo scanning and printing.
  • 1998: Australia’s first whole‑roll film scanning service.
  • 1999: Fotofast pioneers online image storage for customers. 


2001 – Expansion into Displays

  • Began Fotofast Display, offering posters, backlit transparencies, banners, and in‑store kiosks—the first photo ordering kiosks in Queensland. 


2007–2010 – On‑Demand Creativity

  • 2007: Introduced 1‑hour bound photo books, photo gifts, and launched online ordering.
  • 2010: Added two customer-operated Creation Stations for instant photo gifting—another Queensland first. 

2011 – Moving for Growth

  • June 2011: After 21 years and several expansions, the Myer Centre store relocated to 101 Adelaide Street due to space constraints.


2014 – Photo Design Centre

  • 22 July 2014: Moved from Brisbane CBD to 200 Moggill Road, Taringa, repositioning as a “Photo Design Centre” with free parking, bus access, and a modern layout. 
  • Continued investment in latest production tech for better quality, speed, and service.


2015–2024 – Cutting‑Edge Tech

  • Introduced Noritsu film scanners (four units) and a Noritsu film processor.
  • Upgraded printers for fine art printing and revamped video transfer equipment.


Today’s Fotofast

  • More services than ever — Brisbane’s largest range of in‑store photographic services, from scanning to fine‑art printing. 
  • 1‑Hour service across many photo products—with online access and full staff support.
  • Family-owned with heart—30+ years of local service, embracing new technologies and always saying: “The answer is YES!”
